Ahmad Rashad

Ahmad Rashad, born Robert Earl Moore on November 19, 1949, is an American sportscaster and former professional football wide receiver. Recruited out of high school by the University of Oregon as a wide receiver, he played for the Oregon Ducks before moving to running back, a position at which he was named to the 1971 College Football All-America Team. He turned professional as the fourth overall selection of the 1972 NFL draft, taken by the St. Louis Cardinals, and returned to wide receiver in the professional ranks. Known as Bobby Moore through his early career, he changed his name in 1973. He played two seasons for the Cardinals before being traded to the Buffalo Bills in 1974. After sitting out the 1975 season with a knee injury, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks ahead of the 1976 season, but was traded shortly thereafter to the Minnesota Vikings, where he played from 1976 to 1982. With the Vikings he earned four consecutive Pro Bowl selections from 1978 to 1981. Following his retirement from football, Rashad moved into television, working as a studio analyst, game reporter, and anchor across several sports. He served as a panelist on the NFL Live pregame show for NBC.
