Alan Foster, a right-handed pitcher from Pasadena, California, played in Major League Baseball from 1967 to 1976 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, California Angels, St. Louis Cardinals, and San Diego Padres. Drafted by the Dodgers in the second round of the 1965 draft out of Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights, Foster appeared in the record books on August 6, 1969, when he surrendered a 507-foot home run to Willie Stargell at Dodger Stadium — the longest home run ever hit at that park and the first to clear the right field pavilion entirely.
