Alan Page

Alan Cedric Page, born August 7, 1945, in Canton, Ohio, is an American former professional football player and Minnesota Supreme Court judge. He played college football at the University of Notre Dame, earning a B.A. in political science there in 1967. Page went on to play 15 seasons in the National Football League as a defensive tackle, suiting up for the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears, and is considered one of the finest defensive linemen to play the game. He became the first defensive player in NFL history to win the league's Most Valuable Player Award; only Lawrence Taylor has accomplished the feat since.

During and after his playing career, Page pursued the law, earning a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1978. He later served as an associate justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court from 1993 until 2015, when he reached the court's mandatory retirement age of 70.

Page was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1988 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993. In 2018, President Donald Trump awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
