Allie Reynolds

Allie Pierce Reynolds (1917–1994) was a right-handed pitcher who spent his Major League Baseball career with the Cleveland Indians (1942–1946) and New York Yankees (1947–1954). A member of the Muscogee Nation and known as "Superchief," Reynolds attended Oklahoma A&M, where he excelled in baseball and football before turning professional. He finished his career with a 182–107 record, a 3.30 ERA, and 1,423 strikeouts. Reynolds was named to six All-Star teams and won six World Series championships with the Yankees. In 1951 he received the Hickok Belt as the top American professional athlete of the year.
