Anders Hedberg

Anders Hedberg (born 25 February 1951) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey player who was one of the first European-born players to make an impact in North America. He played junior and senior hockey in Sweden with Modo Hockey and Djurgårdens IF, and was twice voted the country's best junior, in 1969 and 1970. He is a graduate of the Stockholm School of Physical Education (GIH).

In 1974, Hedberg and countryman Ulf Nilsson signed contracts to play for the Winnipeg Jets of the World Hockey Association. With Nilsson and Bobby Hull, Hedberg formed the "Hot Line," which played together from 1974 to 1978 and helped the Jets win two Avco World Trophies as WHA champions. In 1977, he became the first player to score more than 50 goals within the first 50 games of a season, finishing that stretch with 51 goals.

Hedberg subsequently played seven seasons in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers. Internationally, he represented the Sweden men's national ice hockey team.

He was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 1997.
