Arthur (known as Art Fletcher) (January 5, 1885 – February 6, 1950) was born in Collinsville, Illinois. His professional career ran from 1909 through 1922, placing him squarely in the deadball era, and he is most closely identified with the New York Giants of the NL. He returned to the dugout as a major-league manager from 1923 through 1944. He was listed at 170 pounds. He batted and threw right-handed. For collectors, his most recognized appearance is in the iconic T206 White Border tobacco set issued 1909-11 by the American Tobacco Company. He died on February 6, 1950 in Los Angeles, California and was interred at Glenwood Cemetery in Collinsville, Illinois.
