Charles Benjamin "Babe" Adams (May 18, 1882 – July 27, 1968) was born in Tipton, Indiana. His professional career ran from 1906 through 1926, placing him squarely in the deadball era, and he is most closely identified with the Pittsburgh Pirates of the NL. After his major-league days ended in 1926, he continued in professional ball through 1927. He was listed at 185 pounds. He batted left-handed and threw right-handed. For collectors, his most recognized appearance is in the E90 American Caramel issues. His documented card checklist includes E125 American Caramel Die Cuts, E254 Colgan's Chips, and E90-2 Pittsburgh American Caramel. He died on July 27, 1968 in Silver Spring, Maryland and was interred at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Mount Moriah, Missouri.
