Barney Poole

George Barney Poole (1923–2005) was an end who played college football at Ole Miss and Army, earning All-American honors at both schools. He came from a prominent Mississippi football family — brothers Jim and Ray Poole also played at Ole Miss and for the New York Giants. Poole played professionally in both the AAFC with the New York Yankees and the NFL with the New York Yanks, Dallas Texans, Baltimore Colts, and New York Giants. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1974.
