Barry Long

Barry Long (born January 3, 1949, Red Deer, Alberta) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach. A defensive forward, he began in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League with the Moose Jaw Canucks before moving to the Central Hockey League's Dallas Black Hawks. He signed with the Los Angeles Kings in 1972, then joined the Edmonton Oilers of the World Hockey Association, where he scored 20 goals in 1974–75 and earned WHA Second All-Star Team honors. After a trade to Winnipeg, he earned a second All-Star selection in 1977–78. Following the WHA-NHL merger, he played for Detroit and later returned to Winnipeg before a hand injury ended his playing career in 1981.
