Bart Starr

Bryan Bartlett "Bart" Starr (January 9, 1934 – May 26, 2019) was an American professional football quarterback and head coach for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide and was selected in the 17th round of the 1956 NFL draft by the Packers, for whom he played 16 seasons through 1971. Starr is the only quarterback in NFL history to lead a team to three consecutive league championships, from 1965 through 1967, and he led the Packers to victories in the first two Super Bowls, I and II. He was named Most Valuable Player of both of those Super Bowls, earned four Pro Bowl selections, and won the league MVP award in 1966. His career completion percentage of 57.4 was an NFL best when he retired in 1972, and he compiled a postseason record of 9–1 with a postseason passer rating of 104.8. As the Packers' head coach from 1975 through 1983, he was less successful, compiling a 52–76–3 record. Starr was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Packers Hall of Fame in 1977.
