Beals Becker

Beals Becker, given name David Beals (July 5, 1886 – August 16, 1943). He was born in El Dorado, Kansas and died in Huntington Park, California. He stood 5 feet 9 inches and weighed 170 pounds. He batted and threw left-handed. He debuted in the majors in 1908 and played his last big-league season in 1915, a stretch of 8 seasons, primarily with the Boston Braves of the National League. His full professional career, including the minor leagues, ran from 1905 through 1925. His card presence in this catalog spans the E254 Colgan's Chips chewing-gum issue produced from 1909 through 1912, a set notable for its broad coverage of major and minor league players and the T206 White Border tobacco issue, distributed by the American Tobacco Company between 1909 and 1911. He is interred at Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California (Sanctuary of Devotion Mausoleum Crypt 180).
