Bill Glass

William Sheppeard Glass (August 16, 1935 – December 5, 2021) was an American professional football player who spent 11 seasons as a defensive end in the National Football League. He played college football for the Baylor Bears, lettering three years (1954–56) and recording 154 tackles in 10 games. In 1956 he was a unanimous All-America selection at guard.
Glass was selected 12th overall in the first round of the 1957 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions, but instead signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League, playing one season in 1957. He then joined Detroit, spending four years with the Lions from 1958 to 1961. In 1962 he moved to the Cleveland Browns, where he played seven seasons through 1968 and finished his career as a standout.
Glass followed his older brother onto the football field. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1985.
