Bill Groman

Dossier
William Frederick Groman (1936–2020) was a wide receiver in the American Football League. He played college football at Heidelberg University before signing with the Houston Oilers, where he appeared in the first two AFL Championship Games (1960–1961). He later played for the Denver Broncos (1963) and Buffalo Bills (1964–1965), earning two more AFL titles in Buffalo. His four AFL championship appearances made him the only player in league history to accomplish the feat. In his 1960 rookie season, Groman recorded 1,473 receiving yards, a mark that stood as the NFL record for most receiving yards by a rookie for 63 years.
