Bill Nyrop

William Donald Nyrop (1952–1995) was an American defenseman who played 207 games in the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens and Minnesota North Stars between 1976 and 1982. Raised in Edina, Minnesota, he attended Edina High School before going on to the University of Notre Dame. With Montreal, Nyrop won the Stanley Cup in 1976, 1977, and 1978. He also represented the United States internationally, serving as captain of the American national team at the 1976 Canada Cup.
