Billy Howton (July 3, 1930 – August 4, 2025) played end in the NFL for 12 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns, and Dallas Cowboys. He attended Rice University, earning first-team All-American honors in 1951. As a Packers rookie, he caught 13 touchdown passes, a record that stood for over four decades. A two-time first-team All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowl selection, Howton finished his career with 503 receptions for 8,459 yards, surpassing Don Hutson to become pro football's all-time leader in both categories and the first receiver in history to reach 500 career catches.
