Bob Buhl

Robert Ray Buhl (August 12, 1928 – February 16, 2001) was a right-handed starting pitcher from Saginaw, Michigan who played in Major League Baseball for the Milwaukee Braves, Chicago Cubs, and Philadelphia Phillies. A multi-sport athlete at Saginaw High School, Buhl signed with the Chicago White Sox in 1946 before completing his graduation, a violation that led commissioner Happy Chandler to declare him a free agent and fine the White Sox $500. In 1947 he posted a 19–10 record with a 3.00 ERA for the Madisonville Miners in the Class-D Kentucky-Illinois-Tennessee League.
