Bob DeMarco

Robert DeMarco (born September 16, 1938) was an American professional football player who played center for 15 seasons in the National Football League for four teams. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Albert and Louise DeMarco, he was raised in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey, and graduated in 1956 from St. Mary High School in Rutherford, where he played both the offensive and defensive lines. As a sophomore in 1953, he was part of the undefeated Gaels team that won the state championship; that team was later inducted into the St. Mary High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997.

DeMarco accepted a football scholarship to Indiana University, where he played for one year before transferring to the University of Dayton. There he played two seasons and served as team captain in his senior year. He graduated in 1961 with degrees in business management and economics. In 1960 he was selected to the Kodak All-American Team and played in both the Blue-Gray Game and the Senior Bowl, and he received honorable mention from United Press International.
