Bob Doll

Dossier

Robert W. Doll (1919–1959) was a 6-foot-5 post player who starred at the University of Colorado from 1939 to 1942 before playing professionally for the St. Louis Bombers and Boston Celtics in the early NBA. Known as "Ichabod," Doll was regarded as a tenacious rebounder and defender with a soft shooting touch. As a sophomore in 1940, he led Colorado to the NIT championship and was named tournament Most Valuable Player, averaging 15.5 points per game. Two years later he earned consensus second-team All-American honors and guided the Buffaloes to their first Final Four. He was also named an AAU All-American in 1943.
