Bob Murray

Robert Frederick Murray (born November 26, 1954) is a Canadian professional ice hockey executive and former player who competed in the National Hockey League from 1975 to 1990. A defenceman, Murray spent his entire playing career with the Chicago Black Hawks. He appeared in two NHL All-Star Games and helped Chicago reach the playoff semifinals five times across a nine-year stretch. He became the fourth player in franchise history to play 1,000 games with the team.

After retiring as a player, Murray moved into the Chicago front office, serving as assistant general manager under Bob Pulford. In 1997, he was appointed general manager of the Black Hawks, a role he held until 1999.

In 2005, Murray joined the Anaheim Ducks as senior vice president of hockey operations. He won his first Stanley Cup when the Ducks captured the 2007 Final. Three years later, he was promoted to general manager. During the 2018–19 season, he also served as interim head coach for 26 games. Over twelve full seasons under his management, the Ducks reached the playoffs eight times and advanced to the Conference Final twice. In 2021, Murray was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by the team. He most recently served as the Ducks' general manager.
