Dossier

Robert Eugene Robertson (born October 2, 1946) was a first baseman who played in Major League Baseball from 1967 to 1979, spending the bulk of his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He missed the entire 1968 season due to a kidney obstruction after leading the minor leagues in home runs three times. Robertson was a key contributor on the Pirates teams that captured five National League Eastern Division titles between 1970 and 1975 and won the World Series in 1971. He became the second player in history to hit three home runs in a playoff game. He finished his career with the Seattle Mariners (1978) and Toronto Blue Jays (1979).
