Bob Tucker

Robert Louis Tucker (born June 8, 1945) is an American former professional football player who played tight end in the National Football League. Standing 6'3" and weighing 230 pounds, Tucker attended Hazleton High, where he lettered in football and basketball, before enrolling at Bloomsburg State College, where he set three NAIA pass receiving records. He went on to establish league records with the Pottstown Firebirds of the Atlantic Coast Football League and also played for the Lowell Giants. In 1969 he was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles taxi squad, and in 1970 he signed as a free agent with the New York Giants.

Tucker played 11 NFL seasons, from 1970 to 1977 with the Giants and from 1977 to 1980 with the Minnesota Vikings. In 1971 he became the first NFL tight end to lead the league in receptions, topping the NFC with 59 catches for the Giants. He is also one of the few Giants to play home games in four different stadiums: Yankee Stadium, from 1970 through the first two home games of 1973; the Yale Bowl, for the last five home games of 1973 and all of 1974; Shea Stadium in 1975; and Giants Stadium in 1976 and 1977.
