Bob Verga

Robert Bruce Verga (born September 7, 1945) played guard in the ABA and NBA from 1967 to 1974. He played college basketball at Duke, where he set the program record for points per game in a single season (26.1) in 1967. Drafted by the St. Louis Hawks in the 1967 NBA Draft, Verga chose the ABA instead, averaging 23.7 points per game as a rookie with the Dallas Chaparrals. He went on to play for the Houston Mavericks, Carolina Cougars, and Pittsburgh Condors before finishing his career with the Portland Trail Blazers. He was a two-time ABA All-Star (1968, 1970).
