Bobby Valentine

Robert John Valentine (born May 13, 1950) is an American former professional baseball player and manager. A native of Stamford, Connecticut, Valentine played in MLB for the Los Angeles Dodgers, California Angels, San Diego Padres, New York Mets, and Seattle Mariners across a career spanning 1969 to 1979. He went on to manage the Texas Rangers, New York Mets, and Boston Red Sox, and also managed the Chiba Lotte Marines in Nippon Professional Baseball. After his playing and managing career, Valentine served as athletic director at Sacred Heart University.
