Brad Hoffman

Dossier
Brad Lee Hoffman (born March 6, 1953) is a retired American basketball player who represented the United States in the 1978 FIBA World Championship. A 5'10" guard from Columbus, Ohio, Hoffman played collegiately at the University of North Carolina, suiting up for the Tar Heels from 1972 to 1975. He saw little action during his first two seasons before becoming a regular rotation player as a senior.
After graduating from North Carolina, Hoffman joined Athletes in Action, a faith-based sports organization. In 1978, that move proved significant when Athletes in Action was selected to represent the United States at the 1978 FIBA World Championship in Manila, the timing of the tournament having ruled out the participation of active college players. The American team finished fifth with a 6–4 record. Hoffman placed fourth on the squad in scoring, averaging 11.7 points per game across the ten tournament contests.
