Brit Selby

Robert Briton Selby (born March 27, 1945) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger who played in the National Hockey League from 1965 to 1971 and in the World Hockey Association from 1972 to 1975. He began his career with the Toronto Marlboros of the OHA, where he played five seasons. In 1963–64, the Marlboros swept the Edmonton Oil Kings in four games to win their fourth Memorial Cup, giving Selby his first championship.

In 1964–65, Selby was called up by the Toronto Maple Leafs to replace the injured forward Ron Ellis. He played three games and scored two goals, recording his first NHL goal against New York Rangers goaltender Jacques Plante in his first NHL game. When Ellis returned, Selby was sent back to junior hockey. The following season he earned a full-time roster spot with the Leafs, scoring 27 points in his rookie campaign and winning the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league's best rookie.

In the NHL, Selby played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers and St. Louis Blues. He later moved to the WHA, where he played for the Quebec Nordiques, New England Whalers and Toronto Toros from 1972 to 1975.
