Bruce Laird

Bruce Laird (born May 23, 1950, in Lowell, Massachusetts) played safety and return specialist in the NFL and USFL. He attended American International College, earning All-American honors in his junior and senior years. Laird spent the bulk of his professional career with the Baltimore Colts (1972–1981), followed by two seasons with the San Diego Chargers before moving to the USFL. Over 12 NFL seasons he appeared in 164 games, starting 127. As a return specialist he accumulated 3,748 yards on 213 attempts, averaging 24.7 yards per kick return.
