William Henry "Bucky" Walters (1909–1991) was a right-handed pitcher who spent 19 seasons in Major League Baseball between 1931 and 1950. Born in Philadelphia, he broke into the majors as a third baseman, appearing in 184 games at the position before converting full-time to the mound. He pitched for the Boston Braves, Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, and Cincinnati Reds, compiling a 198–160 career record with a 3.30 ERA, 242 complete games, and 42 shutouts across 3,104⅔ innings. A six-time All-Star, Walters won the 1939 National League Most Valuable Player Award. He later worked in the game as a manager and pitching coach.
