Gilbert Leroy "Buddy" Dial (January 17, 1937 – February 29, 2008) was a wide receiver in the National Football League who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys. Born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, he grew up in Magnolia, Texas, where he was a three-time All-District end and linebacker at Magnolia High School. He went on to play as a two-way end at Rice University, earning a scholarship to what was then known as the Rice Institute. Dial was inducted into the National High School Hall of Fame in 2002.
