Butch Bouchard

Émile "Butch" Bouchard (1919–2012) was a Canadian defenceman who played his entire NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens from 1941 to 1956. A stalwart defensive presence, Bouchard won four Stanley Cups, served as team captain for eight years, and was named to the NHL All-Star team four times. Known as one of the strongest players and most effective body-checkers of his era, he combined superior passing skills with consistent clean play. His No. 3 was retired by the Canadiens in 2009, and he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
