Charles Comiskey

Charles Albert Comiskey (August 15, 1859 – October 26, 1931), nicknamed "Commy" and "the Old Roman," was a professional baseball first baseman, manager, and team owner. He played 13 seasons across the American Association, Players' League, and National League, with stints on the St. Louis Browns, Chicago Pirates, and Cincinnati Reds. A key figure in the formation of the American League, he was the founding owner of the Chicago White Sox and built Comiskey Park, which bore his name. His tenure was permanently marked by his team's role in the Black Sox Scandal. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame as an executive in 1939.
