Charlie Ane

Charles Teetai Ane Jr. (January 25, 1931 – May 9, 2007) was an offensive lineman who played college football at USC after transferring from Compton Community College, earning All-Coast recognition in the early 1950s. The Detroit Lions selected him in the fourth round (50th overall) of the 1953 NFL Draft. He spent his rookie season backing up center Vince Banonis before earning the starting right tackle spot in his second year. A product of Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii, Ane was later inducted into the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame and the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame (2015).
