Charlie Waters

Charlie Waters played safety for the Dallas Cowboys across a 12-year NFL career, spending his entire professional tenure with the franchise. Born in Miami, Florida on September 10, 1948, Waters grew up in South Carolina after his family relocated there, attending North Augusta High School. He played college football at Clemson University, where he lined up at quarterback before moving to wide receiver. As a senior in 1969, he caught 44 passes for 738 yards — an ACC receiving record that stood until Jerry Butler broke it in 1977 — and earned All-ACC honors at wide receiver.
