Chick Hafey

Charles "Chick" Hafey (February 12, 1903 – July 2, 1973) was an outfielder who played Major League Baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals (1924–1931) and Cincinnati Reds (1932–1935, 1937). A left fielder known for line-drive hitting and consistently high batting averages, Hafey was part of two Cardinals World Series championship teams, in 1926 and 1931. In the 1933 All-Star Game he started in left field and batted cleanup for the National League, recording the first hit in All-Star Game history. The Veterans Committee elected him to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1971.
