Chuck Foreman

Dossier
Walter Eugene "Chuck" Foreman (born October 26, 1950) is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League for the Minnesota Vikings and the New England Patriots. Raised in Frederick, Maryland, he was a standout athlete in football, basketball, and track at Frederick High School. Foreman entered the league in 1973 and was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He was the Vikings' premiere back for most of the 1970s and started in three Super Bowls with the team. Selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first five seasons, he was named first-team All-Pro twice and second-team All-Pro twice during that span. Regarded as one of the best pass-catching backs in NFL history, he was nicknamed "The Spin Doctor" for his elusive running abilities. Upon his retirement, Foreman held the Vikings franchise record for rushing yards from scrimmage. In 2010, as part of the team's 50th anniversary celebration, he was named one of the 50 Greatest Vikings, and the Professional Football Researchers Association named him to its Hall of Very Good Class of 2010.
