Charles Edward Share (March 14, 1927 – June 7, 2012) was a center who played college basketball at Bowling Green State University under Coach Harold Anderson, graduating as the program's all-time scoring leader with 1,730 points and earning All-American honors in 1950. He holds the distinction of being the first overall pick in NBA history, selected by the Boston Celtics with the No. 1 pick in the inaugural 1950 NBA Draft — a choice that drew criticism from fans who wanted the team to select Holy Cross star Bob Cousy instead. Coach Red Auerbach defended the selection.
