Clarence "Cito" Gaston (born March 17, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas) played outfield in Major League Baseball from 1967 to 1978, spending his most notable years with the San Diego Padres and Atlanta Braves. After his playing career ended, he moved into coaching and eventually managing, joining the Toronto Blue Jays dugout in 1989. As manager, Gaston led Toronto to four American League East division titles (1989, 1991, 1992, 1993) and back-to-back World Series championships in 1992 and 1993, becoming the first African-American manager in MLB history to win a World Series title.
