Clarence Peaks

Clarence Earl Peaks (September 23, 1935 – March 31, 2007) was an American professional football fullback who played in the National Football League for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Born in Greeneville, Mississippi, he attended Flint Central High School in Flint, Michigan, where he starred in football, basketball, and baseball. As a quarterback under coach Howard Auer, he excelled at passing, rushing, and punting, served as team co-captain, made the All-Valley Football All-Star Team, and earned honorable mention All-State recognition. In baseball he batted cleanup, and in basketball he finished second on the team in scoring, was voted co-captain in 1953, named the team's Most Valuable Player that year, and selected an All-Valley guard.

Peaks went on to play college football at Michigan State University under College Football Hall of Fame coach Duffy Daugherty, lining up at halfback. He was selected in the first round, seventh overall, of the 1957 NFL draft. In his professional career he played fullback for the Philadelphia Eagles and later the Pittsburgh Steelers. He died on March 31, 2007, at the age of 71.
