Cletis Leroy "Clete" Boyer (February 9, 1937 – June 4, 2007) was a Major League Baseball third baseman who spent 16 seasons with the Kansas City Athletics (1955–57), New York Yankees (1959–66), and Atlanta Braves (1967–71), before playing four additional seasons with the Taiyō Whales in Nippon Professional Baseball. A native of Alba, Missouri, Boyer was one of fourteen children; all seven Boyer brothers played professional baseball, with siblings Cloyd and Ken also reaching the majors. Over 1,725 big league games, Boyer posted 162 home runs, 654 RBI, and a .242 batting average.
