Cliff Hagan

Clifford Oldham Hagan, born December 9, 1931, is an American former professional basketball player. A 6′4″ forward known for his hook shot and nicknamed "Li'l Abner," Hagan played college basketball at the University of Kentucky under coach Adolph Rupp. As a sophomore in 1951, he helped the Wildcats win the NCAA championship with a 68–58 victory over Kansas State. In the fall of 1952, a point-shaving scandal involving three Kentucky players forced the school to forfeit Hagan's senior season. He graduated in 1953, which made him eligible for the NBA draft, and was selected by the Boston Celtics.

Hagan played his entire 10-year NBA career, from 1956 to 1966, with the St. Louis Hawks, with whom he won the NBA championship in 1958. He was named an NBA All-Star five times. He later served as a player-coach for the Dallas Chaparrals during the first two-plus years of the American Basketball Association's existence, from 1967 to 1970, and was named an ABA All-Star.
