Curt Fraser

Curtis Fraser (born January 12, 1958, in Cincinnati) is an American-born forward who played in the NHL from 1978–79 through 1989–90. After setting franchise records for goals, assists, points, and penalty minutes with the Victoria Cougars of the Western Hockey League, he was selected 22nd overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. He joined the Canucks immediately alongside fellow rookies Thomas Gradin and Stan Smyl, forming the club's top offensive line. Fraser appeared in the 1982 Stanley Cup Finals with Vancouver and later played for the Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota North Stars. He was diagnosed with diabetes in 1983 and has since been active in fundraising and awareness efforts for the disease.
