Dan Dierdorf

Daniel Lee Dierdorf (born June 29, 1949) is an American sportscaster and former professional football player who spent 13 seasons as an offensive tackle in the National Football League. He played college football for the Michigan Wolverines from 1968 to 1970, earning consensus All-America honors in 1970 and first-team All-Big Ten Conference selection in 1969 and 1970.

Dierdorf was inducted into the University of Michigan Athletic Hall of Honor in 1996 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2000. He played his entire NFL career, from 1971 to 1983, with the St. Louis Cardinals. The National Football League Players Association named him Offensive Lineman of the Year for three consecutive seasons, from 1976 to 1978. Between 1974 and 1980 he was selected to six Pro Bowls and was chosen first-team All-Pro five times. He was named to the NFL 1970s All-Decade Team.

After his playing career, Dierdorf became a broadcaster. He worked for the American Broadcasting Company from 1987 to 1999, including 12 seasons as a color analyst on Monday Night Football, and later joined the NFL on CBS team. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1996.
