Dan Lewis

Daniel Nathan Lewis (1936–2015) was a professional football halfback and fullback who played college football at the University of Wisconsin, where he rushed for 611 yards in 1957 at 6.4 yards per carry, ranking fourth in the Big Ten Conference that season. Drafted by the Detroit Lions in the sixth round of the 1958 NFL Draft, Lewis spent seven seasons in Detroit (1958–1964), leading the team in rushing in both 1962 (488 yards) and 1963 (528 yards). He later played for the Washington Redskins (1965) and the New York Giants (1966) before the end of his NFL career.
