Dan Pastorini

Dante Anthony Pastorini, born May 26, 1949, was an American professional football player who spent thirteen seasons as a quarterback in the National Football League, primarily with the Houston Oilers. He played college football at Santa Clara University for the Broncos, earning second-team honors on the 1970 Little All-America team. Pastorini also played college baseball and was drafted straight out of high school by the New York Mets in the 32nd round of the 1967 Major League Baseball draft, 599th overall, alongside future New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning, but ultimately chose football.

The Oilers selected Pastorini third overall in the 1971 NFL draft. During his tenure in Houston he was named to the Pro Bowl. He later joined the Oakland Raiders and was part of the team that won the championship in Super Bowl XV, playing alongside fellow 1971 draft pick Jim Plunkett. Pastorini spent his final three seasons making sparse appearances for the Los Angeles Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles.

After retiring from the NFL, Pastorini pursued a career as a Top Fuel dragster driver in the National Hot Rod Association.
