David LaFrance May (December 23, 1943 – October 20, 2012) was an outfielder who played in Major League Baseball from 1967 through 1978. A native of New Castle, Delaware, he graduated from William Penn High School and signed with the San Francisco Giants as an amateur free agent in 1961. May spent the bulk of his career with the Baltimore Orioles, Milwaukee Brewers, Atlanta Braves, Texas Rangers, and Pittsburgh Pirates. He was part of the Baltimore club that won the American League pennant in 1969 and earned an AL All-Star selection in 1973 with Milwaukee. He was the father of MLB player Derrick May.
