Dave Sorenson

David Lowell Sorenson (July 8, 1948 – July 9, 2002) was an American basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association.

Sorenson was a standout center at Findlay High School in Findlay, Ohio, graduating in 1966. He scored a single-game high of 44 points and a single-season high of 521, and was named the 1966 Associated Press Ohio Player of the Year. He finished as Findlay's all-time leading scorer with 993 points, a record later broken by future NFL quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

The 6'9" power forward attended Ohio State University, where he was a three-year starter. As a sophomore in 1967–68, he played on the team that won the Big Ten Conference championship and reached the Final Four in the 1968 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. In the Mideast Regional final, he made the winning basket as Ohio State defeated the University of Kentucky at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, Kentucky, the Wildcats' home arena. As a junior, he led the Buckeyes in both scoring and rebounding with 23.6 points per game and 10.6 rebounds per game, earning Honorable Mention All-American and All-Big Ten recognition. He again led the team in 1969–70 as a senior.
