Dossier

David Andrew Taylor (born December 4, 1955) played right wing for the Los Angeles Kings from 1977 to 1994 after four seasons at Clarkson University. Drafted by both the NHL and WHA in 1975, he reached the NHL with Los Angeles and became part of the "Triple Crown Line" alongside centre Marcel Dionne and left winger Charlie Simmer in 1980–81, when all three surpassed 100 points; Taylor's 112 was a career high and the first of back-to-back 100-point seasons. He was named to the All-Star Game four times in the 1980s and posted two 40-goal seasons. In 1991 he recorded his 1,000th NHL point—the 29th player in league history to reach the mark—and received both the King Clancy Memorial Trophy and the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.
