David Bruce Wohl, born November 2, 1949, in Flushing, New York, is an American former basketball player and coach who later served as general manager of the Los Angeles Clippers. His father was Jewish and his mother Protestant. He grew up in East Brunswick, New Jersey, and attended East Brunswick High School, where he played quarterback on the football team and was named first-team All-Middlesex County in 1966 for both his running and passing ability, averaging 10.7 yards per carry and running for 14 touchdowns.

A 6-foot-2 guard, Wohl played collegiately at the University of Pennsylvania and was selected in the third round of the 1971 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. Over a seven-year playing career he appeared for six different teams, including the 76ers, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Buffalo Braves, the Houston Rockets, and the New York/New Jersey Nets.

Wohl went on to a long assistant and head coaching career that ran from 1978 to 2011. He became known as "Captain Video" for his extensive use of video to prepare his teams.
