David Shand

David Shand (born August 11, 1956, Cold Lake, Alberta) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who was selected eighth overall by the Atlanta Flames in the first round of the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft. He also received a concurrent WHA draft selection from the Calgary Cowboys. During his NHL career he played for the Atlanta Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Washington Capitals. On April 1, 1978, he tied the Flames franchise single-game record with four assists in one game against the New York Rangers. Shand retired from professional hockey in 1989.
