Del Howard

Del Howard, given name George Elmer (December 24, 1877 – December 24, 1956). He was born in Kenney, Illinois and died in Seattle, Washington. He stood 6 feet 0 inches and weighed 180 pounds. He batted left-handed and threw right-handed. He debuted in the majors in 1905 and played his last big-league season in 1909, a stretch of 5 seasons, primarily with the Chicago Cubs of the National League. His full professional career, including the minor leagues, ran from 1904 through 1919. His card presence in this catalog spans the E254 Colgan's Chips chewing-gum issue produced from 1909 through 1912, a set notable for its broad coverage of major and minor league players and the T206 White Border tobacco issue, distributed by the American Tobacco Company between 1909 and 1911. He is interred at Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery in Seattle, Washington.
