Dennis Hull

Dennis William Hull (November 19, 1944 – May 30, 2026) was a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger who spent most of his career with the Chicago Black Hawks of the National Hockey League. He was the younger brother of Bobby Hull, with whom he was a teammate in Chicago for eight seasons, and the uncle of Brett Hull and Bart Hull.

Playing in the shadow of his older brother, Hull nonetheless emerged as a star in his own right, scoring over 300 goals and earning the nickname "the Silver Jet" to Bobby's "the Golden Jet." His best years came as part of Chicago's "MPH" line, a name punning on miles per hour and drawn from the last initials of its members.

When Bobby was excluded from the 1972 Summit Series because he had signed with the WHA, Dennis initially planned to boycott the series in support of his brother, but Bobby persuaded him to remain with Team Canada. During the series he took over for Vic Hadfield at left wing on the New York Rangers' "Goal A Game" line alongside Jean Ratelle and Rod Gilbert, recording two goals and two assists in four games.

Hull was named a Second Team All-Star and appeared in five NHL All-Star Games.
